Paolo Nutini – Caustic love (2014)
Deze Schotse singer-songwriter is misschien bij veel studenten vooral bekend om zijn uiterlijk, maar de muziek die hij maakt, is zeker niet minder knap. Paolo Nutini kwam, nadat we lang niks van hem hadden gehoord, in april 2014 met zijn derde album
Caustic Love. De soulnummers van dit album passen perfect bij zijn rauwe stem en de refreinen van onder andere de liedjes
Scream (Funk my life up) en
Diana blijven op een fijne manier hangen.
Iron Sky, mijn favoriet, was vanwege de aanslagen in Parijs vorige week de Megahit bij 3FM. De songtekst van dit nummer is aangrijpend, maar ook de speech van Charlie Chaplin die is toegevoegd, maakt het bijzonder om naar te luisteren.
